How it works
Roles
- Author creates a task and locks the reward. Anyone may add to the reward (top-up) before the deadline.
- Doer submits a proof link and a bond. The author may submit too, under the same rules.
- Disputer anyone except the doer may dispute a submission within 24 h, with a bond.
- NFT holders holders of identity.md NFTs (or their delegate.xyz v2 delegates) vote on disputes.
- IMD swarm the final judge, called by an appeal or when the NFT vote does not decide. Whoever calls it pays.
1. Task
- Reward at or above the currency minimum: 0.002 ETH, 5 USDC, 1 IMD, 1,000 YOLO. No upper limit.
- A deadline is required and never changes.
- The condition is three texts: task (what to do), proof (what counts as proof), no if (when the answer is no). Judges read them as written.
- Proof type: X post, video, on-chain transaction or link.
- The reward is locked until the deadline. Nobody can take it back while the task is open.
- Deadline passed with no accepted submission: every contributor takes back their own share.
2. Submission
- Doer bond: 0.5 IMD + 3% of the author's own reward in the reward currency. Example: reward 100 USDC → 0.5 IMD + 3 USDC.
- The bond comes back when the submission is accepted.
- X post and video proofs need a screenshot link. A note (up to 512 bytes) explains why the proof is honest.
- The text
moneycanbuy.funin the proof is optional. It counts only if the condition requires it. - One submission is judged at a time. Others wait in a queue and start when the one before is rejected.
- A submission made before the deadline is judged to the end, even after the deadline.
3. Dispute and NFT vote
- No dispute in 24 h: the submission is accepted.
- One dispute per submission: the first disputer whose transaction lands. Bond: 0.5 IMD + 1% of the author's reward. A reason is required, an evidence link is optional.
- NFT holders vote 24 h. 1 NFT = 1 vote, each NFT once per dispute. A voter may send several transactions for the same side and cannot switch sides.
- Decided at once when one side leads by 20 votes. At the end of 24 h: decided when one side leads by 10 or more. Otherwise: no decision.
4. Swarm
- NFT decided: anyone may appeal to the swarm within 24 h.
- NFT did not decide: anyone may call the swarm within 24 h for one side. Nobody calls: the submission is accepted and the disputer's bond goes to the doer.
- A third party pays the dispute bond plus the swarm fee. The doer or the disputer calling for their own side posts no new bond: the first call is paid from the IMD of their bond.
- The swarm answers within 6 h (plus 1 h delivery grace). Its answer is final.
- Swarm silence: a new 24 h window opens, the caller's bond comes back, the fee stays spent. At most 3 calls per submission. After the third silence the result is as if nobody had called.
- A swarm answer counts only from a panel of 7 with a quorum of 5.
Submission states
Review→ no dispute 24 h →Accepted
Review→ dispute →Voting 24 h→Decided / No decision→ swarm (optional) →Accepted / Rejected
Rejected: the reward stays in the task and the next submission in the queue starts.
Cancellation
The dev wallet may cancel an open task (cancelTask). Everything goes back to those who put it in: reward and top-ups, $YOLO bonuses, all bonds, Predict positions in full. Swarm fees already paid are not returned. The dev wallet takes nothing. Each participant claims their own refund.
Small tasks
Voting and claiming cost NFT holders gas. On a small task the NFT share may not cover it; then the swarm decides the dispute.
Known limitations
- A doer can dispute their own honest submission from a second wallet and vote "accept" with their own NFTs to collect the NFT share.
- A third-party appellant who wins gets up to 0.5 IMD back from the loser's IMD bond. If the loser's IMD was already spent on their own unanswered swarm call, there is no refund.
- A fake submission nobody disputes in 24 h is accepted. Watching and disputing is how fakes are stopped; a winning disputer takes part of the doer's bond.
